Spyglass conducts research on behalf of clients on two levels: researching certain geographic locations to assess the possibilities for inward investment and researching certain properties that have already been selected for purchase.

The Spyglass team have solid experience of researching locations for clients thinking of investing in areas as diverse as Florida, Croatia and the Czech Republic.

The Spyglass team have a track record of conducting due diligence on residential and commercial properties in six countries, including building plots in Florida, commercial buildings in London, a 500-plus mixed unit in Miami and an industrial estate in Liverpool.

Case Study 1

We were retained by an European investment fund which had PLC status which wanted to start investing in Apartment Communities in the United States.

Together with Spyglass they established certain criteria that would enable them to make a decision on which market to concentrate on. Spyglass conducted in-depth research on 25 Metropolitan Statistical Areas across the United States and came up with an investment matrix that enabled them to make a informed decision on where to invest.

Case Study 2

A large developer was considering a major investment in Ostrava, the second largest city of the Czech republic. Spyglass was tasked with visiting the area and researching the market to discover the sales trends, existing developments, pipeline developments, and demographic trends.

Following a two week long research exercise on the ground Spyglass was able to give the client a current and concise overview of all the present and future developments, the current and future demand, where in the city this was likely to be located, availability of finance to these end-users. This enabled the investor to make an informed decision as to whether this was the right choice for investment.
